Vital Breath
Vital breath is an animal kingdom rpg, in which the animals are role played semi-realistically, meaning no odd colors or powers. There is a possibility there could be a FEW odd colored animals or animals with powers for a plot or something, but otherwise no. Odd eye colors ARE allowed. (Example: red, purple, pink eyes, etc.) Any animal can be played, be it land walker, ocean dweller, or even an insect. The only except would be plant-types that are really animals, like sponges and seaweed, 'cause let's face it, it would be hard to role play seaweed.
In Vital Breath, many animals live in groups, often referred to as herds. Any animal can live with any other animal. These herds are much like a wolf pack in that they work together. Of course, there are different clans as well, and some of them don't get along too well. For the most part, however, the land is peaceful, and a pleasant place to live. Animals come from all over to live here. As the land is far from any human civilization, few domesticated animals such as house cats and domestic dogs stumble across it, but some do. (Meaning domesticated animals may be played as well.) The good side is, it means no human has ever ventured into the land. It is said that the animals who have lived and died there guard it in some mysterious way from Beyond the Twine, as the afterlife is referred to by the animals. They have named it so because they believe the lives and destinies of all who come to the land are entwined, and the spirits are beyond this world.
Although animal species from deserts, tundras, and rainforests all live together, the climate doesn't bother them. It is believed that the spirits are the ones making that possible as well. You see, the weather is very unpredictable. The animals seemed to have adapted to the land, no matter the heat or cold, or wind or rain. Even new comers to the land seem not to have a problem after the first few days. Still, for those who like adventure, there are countless areas to explore. It is as if all of the places of the world are combined into one. Mountains, rivers, lakes, the ocean on two sides, cliffs, hills, grasslands, deserts, and more.
The animals have even learn to except the way of life that meat eaters like lions eat animals like the wildebeest. These two animals, along with many others of the food chain live all in one herd, and, though they do not eat each other, they do still eat what they would eat anywhere else in the world. Often, the carnivores eat fruits and berries as well, not feeding primarily on others. In fact, though hunting in the lands is permitted, so long as those being hunted are not allies of the individual herd, the carnivores usually get only one meal of meat per week.
This land is truly perfect. Perhaps the only danger is of lone carnivores, or of rogues when they occasionally rise up. Everything seems to be in balance, and the Guardians smile down upon the land. The land no human has ever, or will ever see. The haven for all animals, big and small. The land of Amanija. Will you be part of it?
