Crime in Gotham is at an all time high. Every day the media reports more murder, rape, arson and theft. It seems that in the absence of any real resistance, the underworld of the city has run rampant as some untamed weed spreading and choking all that was once good. One thing’s for certain, it is not safe to go out at night and the only real way to make it here is to screw society’s morals and become yet another face on the five o’clock news. A criminal.

Of course, there are those who strive for greatness; the rare few who always dreamed of rising above the anonymity of being a common street thug. These are the people who don masks, parade in costumes, are known by an alias and are just that little bit … unhinged. We call these folk Villains, the ones who consider robbing a bank child’s play, who’ve seen both sides of Arkham, and who are almost always after something profound. Wealth, status, some higher knowledge. Of course, there are those who simply want to watch the world burn.
BOOM!
In response to this, there are people who decide to take a stand and do something about it. Good people. Acting outside the law, these Vigilantes are always on the look out for transpiring plans, working behind the scenes to thwart such schemes in the hope that some day, Gotham can return to being the city it once was.
