So you've stumbled upon Freeman Hospital of Monroeville, Pennsylvania? Perhaps you became "unstuck" in time, or maybe you fell through some sort of ethereal portal, transporting your sorry bag of flesh to the past. Whatever the case, the year is 1977, not the present, and psychosurgery has recently been declared unethical, although "effective," by the U.S. Congress. America has been fascinated with psychosurgery since the 1930's, but after advancement in science, it is now looked down upon in most states.
Dr. Edward Freeman has managed to keep his facility up and running despite this fact, and has kept a few secrets within the hospital from mainstream America. He admits nearly anyone who is brought to his facility, but hardly ever lets them leave. He rarely shows his face at Freeman Hospital, and all for the better. Patients like seeing less of him.
Inside the hospital, no one can trust each other and alliances are created or destroyed under the pressures of life in the mental facility. All patients have some sort of mental disorder, but nearly all of them don't believe it. Mistrust and fear grip the hearts of the newly admitted, while a strong determination to escape seize the long-term patients. No one is sure who they are or for how long they will last in Freeman Hospital. They can only wait and feel their darling paranoia.

The genre of this roleplay is classified as a realistic human rpg. It takes place in 1977, when psychosurgery was coming to an end in the United States. The setting is inside a mental hospital. Characters are patients who experience daily life there, which can be strange or boring, however they look at it. The Difficulty ranges from intermediate to advanced, and we discourage people who can't post at this level from joining. Our philosophy is quality over quantity here, so please do not assume we are going to drill people to post a certain length.
